“A barn is a sanctuary in a unsettled world, a sheltered place where life’s true priorities are clear. When you take a step back, it’s not just about horses — its about love, life, and learning.” — L DAVIS BARKER
Christy has over a decade of experience managing horse farms and boarding stables, and offers a high-level of care and expertise. We understand what it takes to keep older horses, Thoroughbreds, and other "hard keepers," happy and in good condition. Always August Farm is clean, well organized, and quiet. At this time we are only offering boarding to individuals participating in our lesson/training program.
Amenities include an 80' X 180' covered arena with lights, 160' X 70' outdoor sand ring, a four-acre field with jumps, large & small grass turnout paddocks, run-in shelters, three separate barns with thirteen stalls total, wash areas, & heated/cooled tack room.
We carefully manage our pastures and turnout groups so horses are never crowded or bullied, can enjoy grazing nearly year-round, and always have shelter from the elements. All horses have access to good pasture or hay and are fed grain/supplements at least twice daily.
We understand the importance of good footing and the space needed to keep horses in top-form and well conditioned for eventing! Boarders can enjoy the multiple arenas, grass jump field, and cross country course year round. We maintain a large field/track for conditioning sets. Owners, Christy and Evan Niehues, live on site. Tours by appointment only. We do not offer horse rentals or paid trail rides.
